Performer of the Week
Ty Jones (Senior QB Lakeside)
Jones was sensational on Friday night and led Lakeside to a huge 21-0 win over rival Evans. He was 6 of 12, passing for 202 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and had an electrifying 71-yard punt return to blow the game open in the second half. He also had nine tackles and broke up two passes on defense.
Cole Trupp (Junior RB Greenbrier)
Most weeks Trupp would have been a runaway winner for Performer of the Week. He carried the ball 12 times for 170 yards and five touchdowns in a 43-14 win over Statesboro. He also led the defense with 10 tackles. Greenbrier went 1-19 over the last two seasons but are now 2-1 on the season after this big victory.
Cam Nixon (Senior WR Cross Creek)
Nixon hauled in seven passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a two-point conversion in Cross Creek’s 51-22 loss to Baldwin.
Tre Tre Jeffrey (Senior RB Thomson)
Jeffrey was back in the lineup after missing action the last two weeks with a deep thigh bruise. He ran 36 times for 223 yards and two touchdowns as Thomson knocked off Grovetown 20-13.
Michael Doe (Junior RB North Augusta)
Doe had another strong week as he rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries in North Augusta’s 33-21 win over South Aiken.
Jevon Edwards (Senior RB South Aiken)
North Augusta slowed down Edwards in the first half, but he got going after halftime and finished with 24 carries for 208 yards and two touchdowns.
Levi Murphey (Senior QB Westminster)
Murphey was 13 of 23, passing for 206 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 105 yards and two more scores on 10 carries as Westminster beat Harvester Christian 54-24.
Sean Vandiver (Junior QB Burke County)
Vandiver was 9 of 13, passing for 205 yards and two touchdown passes and a running touchdown as Burke County topped Warren County 50-12.
Devonta Holmes (Senior WR Fox Creek)
Holmes had a monster game against Glenn Hills with three touchdowns and an interception as Fox Creek got its first win of the year 44-6.
Jeanarion Kamga (Senior RB Westside)
Kamga ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns as Westside improved to 3-0 with a 27-12 win over Richmond Academy.
