Opening date drawing near for new Belair Middle School
Richmond County School System officials have announced a tentative date for the opening of the system’s newest school.
The new Belair Middle School is slated to see staff, students and faculty on October 21. They are currently operating out of the former Langford Middle School site on Walton Way.
Langford closed at the end of last year. Its students were moved to Tutt Middle School until a new Langford Middle School facility can be built.
“I’m grateful to Belair Middle School staff, students, and families,” said Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw, Superintendent of Richmond County Schools in a press release. “Thanks to their hard work, students settled seamlessly at the temporary Langford facility. Since the summer, our maintenance staff have worked diligently with our contractors to open the doors of our new, state-of-the-art building for the Belair Middle School community.”
The Richmond County Board of Education has scheduled a Building Committee walkthrough of the new Belair facility on October 2.
