Performer of the Week
Jeanarion Kamga (Senior RB Westside)
Kamga has been sensational for Westside for the last couple of seasons and had a big game on Friday. He carried the ball 20 times for 222 yards and three touchdowns as Westside beat Hephzibah 34-14 to improve to 3-0.
Jevon Edwards (Senior RB South Aiken)
Another week, another big game for Edwards. After starting slow, he rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries. With 19 seconds left and his team trailing Barnwell 26-25, Edwards caught a screen pass and raced 38 yards for the game winning touchdown.
Cam Nixon (Senior WR Cross Creek)
Nixon has been one of the area’s break-out stars this season. In Cross Creek’s 44-28 loss to West Laurens, Nixon hauled in five passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Dallas Carter (Senior WR/DB Augusta Christian)
Carter had six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns on offense. On defense, he piled up 10 tackles for the Lions.
Jaris Sinkfield (Junior WR/DB Thomson)
Sinkfield continues to make plays all over the field for Thomson. In the Bulldogs’ 56-7 win over Swainsboro, he scored almost every way imaginable. He caught two passes for 39 yards and a touchdown, he rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on just four carries, he returned a punt for a touchdown, and he picked off a pass and ran it back 47 yards for another score.
Marc Owen Chancey (Senior QB Edmund Burke Academy)
Chancey has been solid this year for Edmund Burke Academy. In its 35-8 win over Glascock County Friday night, he was 12-of-17 for 233 yards and two touchdowns.
Jonathan Norman (Sophomore RB/LB Lincoln County)
The Red Devils moved to 4-0 with a 31-28 win over Elbert County. Norman had 12 tackles on defense and rushed for 92 yards and two scores on just nine carries. He also hauled in a big 46-yard pass.
Tre Jeffrey (Senior RB Thomson)
Jeffrey turned in another big game in Thomson’s blowout win over Swainsboro. He had 13 carries for 131 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He also caught a 27-yard pass. Jeffrey is committed to Kent State.
Jack Thexton (Senior TE/LB) Lakeside
Lakeside rolled to a 4-0 mark with a win over South Effingham. Thexton rushed for three touchdowns on offense and led the way defensively with nine tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and a sack.
Devante Holmes (Senior WR/DB Fox Creek)
Fox Creek crushed McCormick 49-0 and Holmes was a big reason why. He caught three passes and picked off a pass on defense as Fox Creek improved to 2-1.
