Performer of the Week
Levi Murphey (Senior QB Westminster)
Despite only playing the first half, Murphey had an amazing stat line. He was 13-of-17 passing for 296 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a pair of touchdowns and intercepted a pass, returning it 44 yards for another score as Westminster put up 55 points by halftime and cruised to a 71-14 win.
Jevon Edwards (Senior RB South Aiken)
Edwards had another monster night for the Thoroughbreds. He ran for 255 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries and has now topped 1,200 yards in just five games in the season.
Dallas Carter (Senior WR/DB Augusta Christian)
Carter has started to heat up for the Lions. He had another 100-yard receiving game, going for 178 yards and three touchdown grabs on seven catches. He also had six tackles and an interception on defense as Augusta Christian picked up the victory.
Aden Hickman (Senior RB Edmund Burke Academy)
Hickman rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns on just 16 carries on offense. He also had nine tackles on defense as Edmund Burke moved to 5-0 beating Pinewood Christian 47-6.
Mason Poss (Senior RB/LB Briarwood Academy)
Poss led Briarwood to a 49-12 win over Windsor Academy by piling up an amazing 4.5 quarterback sacks, eight tackles, and five tackles for loss. He also managed to catch four passes for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground, he carried the ball nine times for 39 yards.
Ty Jones (Senior QB Lakeside)
Jones has the Panthers off to the best start in school history at 5-0 after a 28-14 win over Glynn Academy. The game was not even as close as the final score might indicate. He was 7-of-11 passing for 131 yards. He also ran the ball 12 times for 141 yards and a touchdown.
Brayden Stephens (Junior QB Greenbrier)
Greenbrier nearly pulled off the biggest upset in the state of Georgia on Friday night, building a 14-0 lead versus an extremely good Brunswick squad before falling 21-14. Stephens may have had the best game of his prep career. He was 11-of-19 passing for 187 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball 10 times for 85 yards.
Jaquel Holmon (Senior RB/LB Blackville-Hilda)
Holmon ran for 132 yards and three touchdowns on just four carries as Blackville-Hilda improved to 4-1. Holmon also caught two passes for 21 yards and had 11 tackles on defense.
Corey Tillman (Senior QB North Augusta)
Tillman was 17-of-27 passing for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He added 79 yards and a touchdown on the ground on just nine carries as North Augusta won on the road at Gilbert 37-14.
Levi Ketterman (Senior WR/DE Westminster)
Ketterman hauled in three passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns on offense. On defense, he registered seven tackles and two quarterback sacks as Westminster put up 55 points in the first half in route to a 71-14 victory.
