Curfews being evaluated and adjusted in Augusta area – updated October 3
Area leaders have begun evaluating curfews put in place following Hurricane Helene. The curfews were initially instigated due to hazardous road conditions and to ensure ease of travel for emergency services.
Curfews in North Augusta and Aiken County have been lifted but remain in place for Richmond County.
Update:
Richmond county curfews are in effect between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Businesses in the area that have been able to open have been forced to adjust hours in accordance with curfews, ensuring customers and staff are home and off the roads prior to curfew hours.

In the interest of public safety, Columbia County’s 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew will continue.
