Live Christmas trees now available across the Greater Augusta area
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The decorations come out of the attic and, for fans of real Christmas trees, it’s time to hunt down that perfect specimen. There are a lot of great locations across the Greater Augusta area to get live trees
For many, a trip to the Christmas tree lot is as much a part of the holiday season as Christmas itself. Between 25 and 30 million live Christmas trees are sold each year in the United States alone, with the most popular being Balsam fir, Fraser fir, Canaan fir, and Douglas fir. Not all varietals grow in every part of the United States. Each requires particular types of weather, soil, and climate to grow. Leyland cypress, Arizona cypress, Virginia pine, Eastern white pine, and the Eastern redcedar, for instance, are prevalent in the South.
