Wild Oak Farms is a Family Affair
The family-owned and operated Wild Oak Farms opens its grounds to retail customers a few times a year – including this this weekend.

Shoppers explore their flora options at one of Wild Oak’s open days.
Chris O'Kelley | Augusta TodayNestled on a hill in Lincoln County, the family-owned and operated Wild Oaks Farms sustains itself as a wholesale nursery, but a few times a year, it likes to pull the curtain back.
Owned and operated by Corbin and Sarah Dickson and their three children, the farm is only open to the public a few times a year. On those days, however, the nursery offers a wide assortment of flora perfect for landscaping both home and business without breaking the bank.
This year’s spring sales are scheduled April 19 and May 20. Gates open at 8 a.m. and the farm closes at 3:00 p.m. Fall sales will be announced at a later date.
Each sale is different and features different plants as they mature and are ready for sale. They have thousands of trees, shrubs, flowers, fruit trees and other varieties of plants.
Wild Oak differentiates itself not only by the broad variety of plants available but also, because it is primarily a wholesale nursery, price. But the plant sales are only part of the appeal. Spending time on the farm is a real attraction. The long and winding dirt road that leads to the farm is lined with homes and breathtaking views of Lincoln County. The fall ride is particularly nice as everyone on the road decorates their farm or home for fall and football.
Corbin Dickson, who is originally from Augusta, worked in the food and beverage world for a while, and started his own cabinet-making business – all with a dream of owning a farm and making it his full time job. With strong roots now established in the Lincolnton area, he said he and his family want to see the farm continue to grow.
At Wild Oak, that has meant pigs. Kunekune – pronounced ‘cooney cooney’ – to be exact. These friendly, medium-sized pigs are known for their gentle temperament and unique appearance - particularly their lower jaw, or wattles. These pigs are good for small farms and homesteads and are low maintenance. Wild Oak offers piglets year round.
