Two University of South Carolina Aiken graduates have pledged $25,000 to start the Jason K. Crane and Gerry L. Owen Endowed Business Scholarship. Each year, the fund will give $1,000 to students studying accounting and finance.

Jason Crane and Gerry Owen, class of 2006 and 1996, started the Jason K. Crane and Gerry L. Owen Endowed Business Scholarship. "We are incredibly grateful and proud of the education we received at the University of South Carolina Aiken. That solid foundation has allowed us to achieve success in our careers and other endeavors," they said in a USC Aiken release.

To get the scholarship, students must be in their third or fourth year and attend full-time. They need to have a documented financial need and keep a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Both men run Crane and Owen Financial Solutions in Aiken. They work with many school groups and want to help students who give back to their school or town.
