This August, local officials want your input on upcoming road and transit projects. The Augusta Regional Transportation Study (ARTS) will host three meetings across state lines to discuss future plans.

Every five years, ARTS must revise its plans for federal funding. Working with state agencies in Georgia and South Carolina, they'll decide which projects get built first.

The first session wasat the Aiken County Government Center on Aug. 5. The next meeting is on Aug. 6 at the Columbia County Public Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A final session is at Richmond County's Sand Hills Community Center on the evening of Aug. 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

If you can't attend one of these meetings, you can share your thoughts through the ARTS website instead. Officials need to know what matters most for fixing up the Central Savannah River Area.

After gathering public input, staff will put the final touches on their blueprint. They plan to wrap everything up with a vote this September.
