Medical students and health experts will gather at the North Augusta Community Center on Aug. 28. The Post and Courier North Augusta/The Star plans its second Health and Life Expo, offering no-cost screenings and aging-related guidance.

Around 25 of last year's vendors are expected to participate, along with some new vendors. "This year we wanted to bring more of an added attraction," said Cassandra Singfield, publisher and digital sales director for PCNA, according to The Post and Courier.

At check-in stations, Aiken County Career Center students will measure blood pressure, heart rate, and other key health markers. Medicare users can now get protection tips from the Senior Medicare Patrol. These specialists teach ways to shield personal data and funds from theft and fraud schemes.

Visitors will find answers about the aging process at various stations. Topics span from financial planning to housing choices, with clear facts about medical care options.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 495 Brookside Ave.
