Augusta University ranks in the top of Forbes’ “America’s Best-In-State Employers” list for 7th consecutive year.

August University and Wellstar Health System share the growth achieved after only two years of their medical partnership.
Augusta UniversityAt No. 33 on Forbes' "America's Best-In-State Employers" list, Augusta University stands tall among Georgia workplaces. For seven straight years, it has outshined other state schools in the University System of Georgia.
"This recognition reflects the culture we are building together, one that values every interaction with our students, faculty, staff and visitors," said Augusta University President Russell T. Keen to Jagwire. "We are committed to creating an environment where employees feel supported and empowered to thrive."
The medical research school now sits alongside giants like Delta, The Home Depot, and Coca-Cola. Other state schools made the list too — UGA, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, and Kennesaw State all earned spots.
With 4,300 staff and 2,000 teachers, the school runs strong. As the state's top health sciences center, it runs Georgia's only dental program and the Medical College of Georgia.
Student numbers shot up to 11,584 last fall — a 9.8% jump from last fall. This year's count tops 12,000, marking a decade of steady growth.
AU contributed $1.62 billion to state funds in 2024, beating the previous year by 4.6%. This push created 11,543 new jobs across Georgia.
Forbes' survey pulls together input from current and past employees to paint an accurate picture of the company. AU's continued high ranking shows the institution's strength in keeping employees happy.
