Bridgestone Confirms Cyberattack on Aiken County Plants

Problems struck two sites in Aiken County on September 2, as WRDW reported. The next day, issues spread to a plant in Joliette, Quebec.
In a statement to Mon Joliette, Bridgestone Americas wrote: "Our team responded quickly to contain the issue in keeping with our established protocols. While our forensic analysis is ongoing, we remain confident that we were able to contain this limited cyber incident early. We do not believe any customer data or interfaces were compromised. "
The company's North American arm runs plants across the region. With 55,000 workers, this branch earned $12 billion in sales last year, with $1.2 billion in profits.
