The No. 11 Gamecocks are off to a 2-0 start, fresh off wins against Virginia Tech and South Carolina State. Their 24-11 win over the Hokies set the tone, while a 38-10 victory against SC State showed their might.
History leans heavily toward South Carolina. They've won 16 straight against Vanderbilt, building a 30-4 all-time edge. Not since 2008 have the Commodores won, when they pulled off a 24-17 upset in Nashville. Last year's clash saw South Carolina win 28-7 in Nashville.
Vicari Swain lights up South Carolina's special teams. His two punt returns for touchdowns against SC State pushed his season total to three. On defense, Dylan Stewart strikes fear into quarterbacks with two sacks this year.
At the helm of Vanderbilt's attack, Diego Pavia has thrown for 468 yards with five touchdowns and one interception. Nick Rinaldi anchors Vanderbilt's defense as their top pass rusher.
A brutal road schedule awaits South Carolina after this game. They'll hit the road to face Missouri, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. Their final test comes at home against No. 4 Clemson on November 29.
