Inside the 1,500-square-foot space, guests will find a mix of dining spots and soft seating. Workers and students can plug in at various charging stations throughout the shop.
"It's super cozy and it's just going to give you those cozy coffee shop vibes when you think of a coffee shop," Kocher said.
The menu features craft drinks and fresh food made daily. Two customer picks stand out - a sandwich with turkey and brie cheese, and another with spiced chicken.
"We use nothing but good ingredients, no extra additives. We try to make everything in-house when we can, and you can taste the quality," Kocher explained.
The business started in 2018, two years after Ali Kocher and her mother moved south from Illinois. With no prior business know-how, they took a chance on their first shop.
"My mom and I literally ramped it up, and it's grown so much larger than we would have ever expected. Now our whole family is involved, my dad, my siblings, they're all involved, and it's been incredible. We see ourselves continuing to grow," Kocher said.
Both women split time between the shops and their other responsibilities. Ali works shifts as a NICU nurse, while her mom tends to her six children at home.
Doors will open at 6 a.m. on weekdays, closing at 6 p.m. Weekend hours run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plans include bringing drinks and food to nearby medical centers and schools.
Rooted currently has two locations in Evans, and one in Martinez.
