The statewide push connects small farms to food distribution centers, putting fresh crops on tables across Georgia. Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper made this announcement while discussing the state's work with Feeding Georgia.
"Through Georgia's Farm to Food Bank Program, we are helping provide fresh, healthy food to Georgians in need while supporting our state's No. 1 industry and the farm families who fuel its success," Harper said, according to WRDW/WAGT.
Golden Harvest is just one of eight organizations chosen for this funding boost. The money supports their mission to buy and share Georgia-grown produce with families facing food shortages.
Building on past wins, Harper aims to grow the program's reach. His team will join forces with state officials and Feeding Georgia in the coming months.
