The 2025 PaceDay makes its way back to Augusta this Oct. 5. Participants can now choose between cycling, a new 5K run/walk, or spin sessions. Money raised goes to the Georgia Cancer Center's vital work.

"For the hundreds of thousands of Georgians whose lives have been affected by cancer, we are Paceline," said Martyn Jones, president of Paceline, to Jagwire. "Paceline is a year-round movement of communities and organizations, 'Setting the Pace to End Cancer.'"

The event's impact speaks through numbers. Since 2018, it has raised almost $2 million for research. This seed money then grew into $12 million more from the National Institutes of Health.

Medical experts predict cancer will affect more than 66,000 Georgia residents next year. At the Medical College of Georgia, 50 scientists work tirelessly to find better ways to fight the disease.

Hurricane Helene forced a halt to last year's activities. Yet the setback didn't stop supporters, who still funded seven key research projects through their gifts.

"Nothing happens until something moves," Jones said to Jagwire. "The ongoing support Paceline receives from the MCG Foundation makes this promise possible."

Augusta Common will be the central hub for all events. Registration stays open until event day.
