Voters can now cast their ballots at multiple sites throughout the Central Savannah River Area. These local elections will shape the future of Augusta, Columbia County, and Aiken County.

Richmond County has set up four voting stations. The main site is at the Municipal Building on Telfair Street, with three more at local centers. Voters can stop by any location from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays until Oct. 31.

Columbia County has two voting locations at the Evans Government Complex and the old Euchee Creek Library building. Both sites are open each weekday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., through the month's end.

A fierce battle brews in Augusta Commission District 4. Tanya Barnhill-Tirnley squares off against Lonnie Wimberly in this special contest to complete Alvin Mason's unfinished term.

The District 2 County Commission seat in Columbia County stands vacant after James Allen III's exit. Two candidates vie for the position: Howard W. Johnson V and Jim Steed.

Aiken County has early voting from Oct. 20 through 31 at county election offices. The ballot features tight races for city council, with Districts 2, 4, 5, and 6 up for grabs.

Weekend options make voting more accessible. Richmond County opens its doors two Saturdays, on Oct. 18 and 25, along with Sunday, Oct. 26. Columbia County welcomes weekend voters on Oct. 18 and 25.
