Drivers near Whiskey Road (SR19) and Oak Grove Road/East Gate Drive will see construction crews and equipment. Traffic control will be set up. Construction happens Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., because the city wants to avoid rush hour chaos.
The signal installation is just one piece of a much bigger puzzle. South Carolina officials announced the timeline Feb. 20, giving the public a heads-up about what's coming.
Plan ahead if you drive this route during construction hours. Crews and machinery will slow things down. Add buffer time to your trip.
No detours are planned. Traffic will keep flowing through the intersection while crews do their job.
