Richmond County Schools Shine: Eight Recognized for Math and Literacy Gains on 2024-2025 Milestones Test
Eight Richmond County schools were recognized math and literacy gains on 2024-2025 milestones test.

Eight Richmond County schools received state recognition for gains in math and literacy on the 2024-2025 Milestones test. State Superintendent Richard Woods handed out the awards on March 13.
The recognized schools were among 800 honored statewide. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School earned an award. Freedom Park got one too. So did Gracewood Elementary and Jamestown Elementary.
AR Johnson Magnet School, Tutt Middle, CT Walker Elementary, and Warren Road Elementary also received recognition.
"For us across the state, it's always exciting because it does recognize the hard work that teachers are doing each and every day — you know, they work with challenges from what happens at home doesn't stay at home to just an ever-changing environment within the schools," Woods said, per WRDW.
The Milestones test measures how students perform in core subjects. Results from the 2024-2025 testing cycle showed gains in both math and literacy across the eight Richmond County schools.
