Black families can attend a free health event this Saturday in Augusta. The Black Family Wellness Expo takes place March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HUB for Community Innovation Augusta.

Free health screenings will be available. People can pick up educational materials and wellness resources. Local healthcare providers and community groups will be there to meet attendees.

The event zeroes in on maternal health, mental wellness, chronic disease prevention, and family wellness as a whole. Interactive activities will run throughout the day, and giveaways will be handed out.

Organizers describe the expo as one piece of a national push to shrink health disparities and widen access to health education and resources within Black communities. Families can gather practical information and tools to support healthier living. The event also strengthens connections between residents and local health services, giving people a chance to build relationships with providers they might not have met otherwise.

The venue sits at 631 Chaffee Ave. Anyone can attend.
