The Greater Augusta Arts Council launched its first annual Youth Emerging Artist Showcase. Works from area artists ages eight to 18 fill the walls. The show, called "8×10", runs through April 22 at City Gallery.

Each participating member submitted one piece. Every work measures eight inches by 10 inches. Visitors can see the pieces at 535 Telfair Street in Augusta, Georgia.

This showcase connects to the Creative Futures Program. The Youth Emerging Artist Membership started in 2024. It gives young artists from age six through college access to chances they wouldn't otherwise get.

Thirteen young artists contributed to this exhibition. Featured members include Soheila Tamaddon, Thatcher Holmes, Cullie La Pan, Liam Anderson, Siddharth Malik, Elliott Mills, Alaina Mills, Annie Lies, Ashton Bliss, Naleigh Lucas, Esther Grace, Phoenix Cardinal, and Bailey Burch.

The program wants participants to feel what working artists feel. Live shows, gallery visits, performances, and workshops help young artists turn ideas into skills. They build confidence. They create connections within the arts community. Participants learn about process, discipline, and expression while picturing futures where what they make matters.

The show opened on March 6. It will stay up until April 22, 2026. A reception and awards ceremony happens Friday, April 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Anyone can visit during its run. Community members should come to the April reception to support these young artists and celebrate what they've made.
