Six amateur golfers will tee off at the 90th Masters this week. These players will fight for the Silver Cup, given to the top amateur to make the 36-hole cut.

Mason Howell stands out after claiming the U.S. Amateur at Olympic Club last August. He crushed Jackson Herrington 7&6 when they met in the final.

Jackson Herrington secured his spot by finishing second at that U.S. Amateur. The University of Tennessee sophomore swings left-handed. No other amateur in this year's field does.

Ethan Fang carries the best ranking among these six, world No. 7. Last June at Royal St. George's in England, he captured the Amateur Championship. Ireland's Gavin Tiernan pushed him hard, but Fang won by one stroke in their final match.

Brandon Holtz will experience his first major championship after winning the U.S. Mid-Amateur last September at Troon Country Club in Arizona. He's 39. Jeg Coughlin III fell to him 3&2 in what was Holtz's first USGA championship attempt.

Fifa Laopakdee makes history as Thailand's first amateur at the Masters. The Arizona State junior won the Asia-Pacific Amateur in Dubai last October despite trailing by six strokes when the final round began.

Mateo Pulcini took the Latin America Amateur in Peru this January. He shot 68 in his final round and made par on the second playoff hole to win.

The Silver Cup celebration marks 25 years since Mickelson earned low amateur honors in 1991. Nicklaus, Woods, and Mickelson all claimed this award before they collected 14 green jackets between them. Neal Shipley won the Silver Cup most recently in 2024.
