Augusta University to Honor Five Athletes and Coach in 2026 Hall of Fame Class

Augusta University will induct five members into its Athletics Hall of Fame on May 29, 2026, at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. The night will honor important figures that made a lasting impact on Augusta University Athletics.

Coach Lenny Carlson joins the class. So do golfer Broc Everett, basketball stars Lawanna "Kita" Monday and Keshun Sherrill, and baseball player Shannon Wilkerson.

Carlson spent over six decades with the men's basketball program, starting back in 1968. He helped recruit the first black players to the team, which made the school the first white college in Georgia to field an integrated basketball team.

Broc Everett won the 2018 NCAA Division I National Championship as an individual. He's the only men's golfer in school history to accomplish that achievement.

"To be part of all that this school has had in terms of athletic success and everything with the university, this is pretty awesome," Broc Everett said, per Augusta Jags. "I wasn't prepared for this."

Lawanna "Kita" Monday is the all-time leading scorer in women's basketball history with 2,143 career points. She put up 19.3 points per game throughout her career from 1994 to 1998.

Keshun Sherrill finished his basketball career as the Peach Belt Conference's all-time leading scorer with 2,333 points. He earned PBC Player of the Year as a senior while dropping 22.6 points per game.

Shannon Wilkerson earned recognition as the 2009 ABCA Division II National Player of the Year. He batted .441 with 101 hits, 82 runs scored, 24 home runs, and 82 runs batted during the 2009 baseball season.
