Election Night 2024 – Updated Results – Trump Elected 47th President of the United States

Welcome to Election Night 2024. Check in with us over the course of the evening for updates on local, state and national races and watch our graphic to follow the presidential candidate’s race for the deal-sealing 270 electoral votes.

4:45 P.M.

With just over two hours before polls close across Georgia and South Carolina, lines at voting precincts remain short and the voting process quick. This is, in part, due to the popularity of advance voting. In Richmond and Columbia Counties, more than 50 percent of registered voters elected to cast an early ballot. In Aiken County, more than 54,000 of 113,203 registered voters chose to cast an early ballot.

6:31 P.M.

Early polls in Indiana and Kentucky have closed and our polling stations in Georgia and South Carolina will close in less than half an hour. After that, there’s nothing left but the counting. In some states, including a few closely contested battleground states, that could take a while. While Georgia, one of the seven states seen as vital in the presidential campaign, counts quickly, other states could take days. In Pennsylvania, for instance, the counting of early mail-in ballots – of which there are approximately 1.8 million, cannot begin until the polls close and the New York Times reported the count could well extend beyond election night. Likewise, counts in Arizona and Nevada, also considered battleground states, could take days.

Election night might last all week.

7:15 P.M.

The first three states have declared in the presidential race. Former President Donald Trump has taken both Indiana and Kentucky for a total of 19 electoral votes. Vice President Kamala Harris has won Vermont for three electoral votes. These were the expected outcomes for these states.

7:45 P.M.

The race has been called in West Virginia and former President Donald Trump declared the winner. West Virginia carries 4 electoral votes.

8:15 P.M.

Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner in Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Vice President Kamala Harris has been declared the winner in Maryland, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. That brings Trump’s electoral total to 95 and Harris’s to 35.

8:35 P.M.

Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner in Arkansas and Vice President Kamala Harris has been declared the winner in New Jersey and Delaware, bringing their electoral totals to 101 and 52 respectively.

8:49 P.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris has won in Illinois, picking up an additional 19 electoral votes and bringing her total to 71.

9:17 P.M.

Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner in North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Texas, Ohio, and Louisiana. He has also been declared the statewide winner in Nebraska, a state that retains the ability to split its electoral votes. His total is now 177.

Vice President Kamala Harris has won in New York. Her total is now 99 electoral votes.

9:39 P.M.

In the local race for Aiken County Sheriff, Marty Sawyer has been declared the winner with 63.8% of the vote.

9:51 P.M.

The Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (ESPLOST) measures on the ballots in Richmond, Columbia, and Aiken County have all passed. Richmond County’s passed with 65.2% of the vote, Columbia County’s passed with 67.7% of the vote, and Aiken County’s passed with 67.7% of the vote.

10:04 P.M.

Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner in Ohio, Utah, Montana, and Missouri, bringing his total to 198 electoral. Vice President Kamala Harris remains at 99 electoral votes.

10:12 P.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris has won in Colorado, bringing her electoral total to 109. Trump remains at 198 electoral votes.

10:15 P.M.

Rick Allen has been named the winner in the U.S. House District 12 race with 58% of the vote.

10:21 P.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris won the District of Columbia, securing the three electoral votes allotted to the nation’s capital.

10:52 P.M.

Donald Trump has won the states of Iowa and Kansas. This brings his electoral total to 210 votes. Kamala Harris has won the 1st Congressional District in Maine, increasing her total by one. She now sits at 113 electoral votes.

11:03 P.M.

Kamala Harris has won both Washington and her home state of California, bringing her electoral total to 179 votes. Donald Trump won Idaho, bringing his total to 214.

11:13 PM

More results have come in from local elections. In the Richmond County School Board races, Shontae Boyd has taken the District 12 seat with 72% of the vote, Monique Braswell has won District 5 with 51% of the vote, Mary Jane Abbot won in District 8 with 83% of the vote, and Samantha Valentine took the District 10 seat with 60% of the vote.

Also on the ballot were the Georgia Property Tax Exemption, which passed with 64% of the vote, and the Georgia Statewide Homestead Exemption Amendment with 63% of the vote.

The Georgia State Senate District 23 seat went to Max Burns with 62% of the vote, District 125 went to Gary Richardson with 65%, and District 131 went to Rob Clifton with 66%.

11:21 P.M.

Former President Donald Trump has secured an important victory in a contested battleground state, winning North Carolina. His electoral total is now 230 – a mere 40 short of victory.

11:25 P.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris has secured Oregon’s eight electoral votes, bringing her total to 187.

11:36 P.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris has added five votes to her total, winning New Mexico.

11:43 P.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris has won Virginia, adding 13 votes to her tally. Her total now sits at 205.

11:54 P.M.

In the Burke County Commission races, Lucious Abrams won the District 1 seat with 76% of the vote, Evans Martin won District 3 with 56%, and Pamala Bell took District 5 with 57%.

12:01 A.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris won Hawaii and its four electoral votes. Her total is now 209.

12:37 A.M.

Vice President Kamala Harris took the famous ‘Blue Dot’ – Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, gaining another electoral vote in the process. With that her total hit 210.

Good morning America. How are you?

As cracks appeared in the much-discussed Blue Wall of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Donald Trump, in the early hours of this morning, won Georgia, Pennsylvania and, and Wisconsin, earning the electoral votes required to be elected the 47th President of the United States. Although there are still states that have not submitted their final count – and it may be some days – Trump’s vote total reached 277, four more than required, in a decisive victory.
