Burke County Sheriff's OfficeBurke County Sheriff Alfonzo Williams held a news conference this afternoon to announce that a suspect was in custody in connection with 30-year-old Telvin Osborne's death early Sunday morning.
The suspect was identified as Osborne's live-in girlfriend, 25-year-old Hannah Cobb.
The two shared a home in the 800 block of Four Points Road near Waynesboro, along with their two young children.
Burke County deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the home at 5:45 Sunday morning. They found Osborne in the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to an hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Meanwhile, investigators say they were questioning Cobb, adding that she was initially cooperating.
Today, Williams said Osborne's death was not accidental, adding that Cobb had been taken into custody and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter.

The two had reportedly gone to a club earlier in the evening, came home and got into a heated argument.
"It is reckless to go out and then get drunk and then introduce a firearm into an argument," said Williams during the news conference.
He said Cobb allegedly fired the fatal shot.
An incident report filed after the shooting said Cobb told deputies the two had been out all night. She said her firearm went off while she was checking it, as she said they both did every night. She called police after Osborne was shot.
"After a thorough sifting of evidence, we were able to secure warrants and make an arrest in this case," said Williams.
