Shooting in North Augusta Home Under Investigation

The deaths of two people are under investigation today in Aiken County.

Major Jason Griffin of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a report of a shooting at a home on Walnut Court in North Augusta at 10 a.m. today.

“When deputies arrived and entry was made into the residence, two individuals were found deceased from what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound,” Griffin said.

He added there are no indications of any danger to the community at this point.

The North Augusta Department of Public Safety, the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.

The identities of the shooting victims are not being released pending notification of family members.
