Richmond County Schools Open Thursday, Edgefield County Announces Changes
Richmond County schools will operate on a normal schedule Thursday but are continuing to monitor weather updates as the possibility of a wintry mix gets closer to arriving in the CSRA, most likely on Friday.
The Edgefield County School District is moving to E-Learning for Friday, January 10, based on the latest weather forecasts.
“Following the latest weather forecast and advisories from state and local emergency management officials on Wednesday afternoon that show an earlier arrival for the approaching system, the Edgefield County School District will move to an E-Learning day on Friday, January 10,” according to a statement from the school district.
There will be no bus schedules and no on-campus instruction on Friday in Edgefield County.
The Richmond County School District issued a statement today, providing information on how updates on school system operations can be monitored the rest of the week.
“After monitoring weather conditions and communicating with local and regional emergency officials, all RCSS schools and offices will operate on a normal schedule on Thursday, January 9. Our school system will continue to monitor reports from the National Weather Service and provide additional updates on operations for Friday, January 10, no later than 2 pm tomorrow,” according to the news release.
